My favorite song off this album would have to be Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis. This may seem like a strange choice, especially considering the fact that majority of Deja is uptempo. But I think that makes this song stand out even more, and is a really poignant song on the second half of the record. The lyrics show more vulnerability than any of the other songs on the record. Take them to mean what you will, but I believe that regardless of the implications of the song, it really is about coming to terms with your shortcomings, and understanding that people are imperfect. Everyone has desires that they may not always believe are moral, but they will always be there. Everyone has demons that haunt them.
"Who will cast the first stone? You can sin or spend the night all alone.”
Day 4 - Your favorite song from Your Favorite Weapon
I mean, is this even really a question? Seventy Times 7 is clearly the best song from YFW, and I think any true fan would know that. Call me biased, but I have never seen a crowd go crazier than when Brand New breaks into this song during one of their concerts. The atmosphere is just insane.
